- Decide the purpose of asking the question.
- Plan the topics, and inform every student beforehand allowing them the time to prepare.

- Every topic should be relevant. Learning about irrelevant topics that will not benefit them during exams and in life is pointless.
- Strategize how you would reflect on incorrect answers.
- Keep a differentiated set of questions to ask students with unique abilities.
- Include open-ended questions for the very end. It allows students to use their thinking skills instead of memorizing capacity.
- Have certain anticipation levels of answers, and not expectations as being disappointed yourself would reflect student performance by bringing down their motivation level too.
- Allot less time for cognitive questions.
Gestures- verbal and non-verbal established and understanding in the classroom. But before that, a teacher has to make the students comfortable enough. They must be familiar with the classroom environment and at ease. It helps them answer correctly rather than become nervous and forget. A teacher can expect good performance from the students, given they maintain a positive attitude during and after the questioning hour is over.
For orals examinations and question sessions, keep the following in mind;
- Maintain a friendly demeanor and a positive tone or a neutral expression on your face.
- Avoid interrupting a student while they answer. Give complete feedback only after they finish.
- Encourage everyone’s participation, don’t make answering the questions compulsory, follow the raise the hand rule, and select options alternatively to give everyone an opportunity.
- Fix it in some classes only for questions, don’t make it an everyday routine. Students do not prefer stressing about answering at the end of every class.
